What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary holistic therapy that works with the reflexes in your feet and hands, which align with the organs and systems of your body. Using gentle pressure and small movements on specific reflexes in your feet and hands, reflexology promotes your body’s natural healing process, helping to restore balance and wellbeing.

Stimulating these reflexes, reflexology aims to:

Improve physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing

Relax, reduce tension and calm the mind.

Promote healthy energy levels and enhance sleep quality

Support Women’s health

Improve mood and focus reducing stress and anxiety.

Promote general circulation (including lymphatic circulation) and help eliminate toxins

Support people living with chronic illnesses, cancer and palliative care

Please Note: Reflexology does not diagnose or cure illness and should not replace conventional medicine. Always seek advice from a registered medical professional if you have health concerns.

FAQs

Can anyone have reflexology?

Reflexology is suitable for most people, regardless of age. However, there may be some conditions where it isn’t appropriate. Please get in touch if you have any health concerns, and we can discuss whether reflexology is right for you.

How often should I have reflexology?

This depends on your individual needs. Some people benefit from regular sessions, while others book treatments as and when they need them. We’ll discuss this during your first session.

How do I prepare for my treatment?

Preparing for your reflexology treatment is simple. All you need is a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax. I’ll bring everything needed, including a specialist chair and high-quality Songbird oils.

Here’s how to make the most of your session:

● Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

● Ensure your space is calm and distraction-free.

● Be ready to relax and take time for yourself.

What if it’s my first treatment?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to take a holistic look at your health and wellbeing and ensure your treatment is tailored specifically to your needs. This initial session will be slightly longer, as it includes:

● A detailed consultation to take your full medical history. This helps identify any health conditions or contraindications that may affect your treatment.

● A discussion about your goals and concerns. Whether you're seeking relaxation, support for a specific condition, or ongoing care, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan together.

● Time to explain the reflexology process and answer any questions, so you feel comfortable and at ease before we begin.

Once the consultation is complete, you’ll enjoy a relaxing and restorative reflexology treatment tailored to your unique needs.

What should I do after my session?

Drink plenty of water, rest, and listen to your body. Reflexology can promote detoxification, so staying hydrated will help your body adjust.
